Album Info: | Unbelievable! Trillium Railways operating a very very sharp-looking ALCO RS18 - switching box cars in St. Catharines, Ontario. This is undoubtedly my catch of the year. As I drove over the crossing, I looked over my shoulder and saw the train's headlights coming - but couldn't see that it was an ALCO. As usual, I decided to jump out of the car and try to get a quick pic. My jaw dropped when I realized what was rumbling towards me. And what a deep, delicious sound as it cruised through the crossing at Glendale Avenue, with three box cars in tow. For me, ALCO's represent a wonderful, and important, contribution to the evolution and history of the diesel locomotive. So seeing one today - in 2016 - in daily routine switching duty - was totally a treat. |
